Christening Invitation

We received an invitation for Noah’s christening in November. Since we are the Godparents I have no idea what to expect.  In the church I grew up attending we did not christen babies, so this entire process is entirely new to me. Anyone want to fill me in on how this works?

It depends on the type of church. I'm Catholic and my husband is Baptist and each do it differently. Catholic=a small ceremony with some readings and were the Godparents affirm that they will help raise the baby in the church should anything happen to the parents and they cannot do it. Baptist=a quick little blessing over the baby in front of the church were the people of the church affirm that they will raise this child in the church and the parents affirm that they have taken on the responsibility as well.
